This is a dog bowl riser I made for my dog General Patton. I thought I should keep the military theme and modeled it after an old ammo box. I just used some 1x pine and cheap Stanley hinges and latch. I stained it with minwax polyshades after my girlfriend and I beat it up with chains and a rasp to distress it. I just bought a couple lengths of manila rope for the sides. Its kind of dirty, but he’s been using it for six months and he’s a real messy eater.

Thanks for the encouraging words. My girlfriend wants me to build one for her little cocker. She wants it to be very ornate and wants a dog bed to match. I suppose in time.

Oh yea, you are real softy for your dog. I also have built many of those for our dogs and to sell. Sold pretty good a few years back. I used to sell to a Animal store here in the Islands that also sold the dog beds…for $800 to $1200 each…..Nope, a good large square dog pillow from Costco will have to do…or should I say several for all our dogs

So cool and sturdy. Like the military theme and the distressed look and I think the general approves. Great job!
