This style murphy bed I call the Manchester Murphy bed. The face has a hand cut and resawed molding for the face. I normally build it with crown and base molding, but this one has neither for a simpler look.

A folding Murphy Desk was added to the face. The leg of the desk forms a picture frame when up so that a picture or something else can be added if desired.

Are the two pieces about 3 inches by 6 inches in the framed areas to the left and right of the desk top leg supports for the Murphy bed?

I installed a Murphy bed for a friend about four years ago. The room was small and this desk add-on would have been perfect! Great job.

Yes those are the legs. They are 3” x 7”. It may not be too late to add the desk. It is really a simple design with a couple hinges and locks.
