This is an update to a project previously posted. I just got these photos of the painting my good friend Dan Rickards did on the small cherry blanket chest. What a wonderful pleasure to collaborate with a friend on such a fun project! This chest will be auctioned at the My Own Two Hands art acution this April in Sisters, Oregon.

David,
That is gorgeous! That painting really compliments your choice of material. I hope it brings alot for your charity.

Wow, this is beautiful the box and the painting. Tell your friend that I, another painter, said that I thought his painting was great and that I loved it.

My being in this group makes me wish I could do something in wood so I could post it. The only possibility would be some form of wood art since I don’t own the needed tools or work space to make the projects that you are all doing.

Diane, If you change from painting on rocks to painting on logs…you could post it.

I love to see carvings, inlay, or painting integrated into furniture. Simple feel yet beautiful.

Great work David. I looked at some of the additional pictures of this piece on your site, and I wanted to ask you about the “Handmade by David Pruett” medallion that it is inlayed into it. Did you make that? I have tossed around the idea of getting a custom branding iron, but the medallion is very classy.

Now that John mentioned it, I am curious about the medallion too. It is almost a work of art itself.

Excellent work David.

That’s just awesome, David! I didn’t have the same luck with the medallion guy. I can’t get a return email from them after a couple of tries.

Just fixing some broken photo links so late thanking everyone for such supportive comments.

Tom – I might be experiencing the same issue – I have a couple of other resources that I might post after checking reliability.
