Project Information

This is the bench that I posted a while back. I've had numerous request to do some traveling demonstrations, so I made this knock down stand to set the bench on. Its made out of white oak as well with waterlox as the finish. It breaks down into three pieces and can be easily loaded to hit the road.

Thanks for having a look!

Great job as spected from you, and very handy.
Is This the same base you used in the past demonstration or a new one?

Great looking bench, again another project I would be afraid of damaging and would not use for its intended purpose.

Les,

That's what we would call a first-class sawhorse! You really know how to turn practical into beautiful! Very fitting for your incredibly gorgeous workbench.

Les, got a couple million questions, but I will pare it down a bit.

- the base, is it low enough to use as a sawbench if the top is not installed?

- the cleats on the base to receive the bench top, could they be reversable? In other words, it looks like
the top could be flipped, one side flat for sawing, the other cleated for the bench top

- What is the final height of the bench top? The photos make it look taller than the average wrist height. If
so, do you use it for a specific type of work like carving that would work better on a taller top (less
stooping)?

It is a truly wonderful piece, it is just what I have been looking for for inspiration for a similar project! Thanks ever so much for sharing
