In an attempt to clear out the scraps that have been building up I made some coasters. I have seen a few of these lately, can’t remember who’s video I watched but they are a breeze to make. 3.75” square and half an inch thick. Some pine, hickory, walnut, oak and the thin tops and bottoms are some really ugly pallet oak.

Na, the glue up was in stages. Kinda a PITA. Once that was done, ya through the bandsaw.

I like you idea.
I think I will modify it by gluing 12 to 18” lengths of wood together and then turning them into a cylinder on the lathe after which I can slice off the thickness I need for a coaster. A quick search shows that a fellow Lumberjock, Hawkdriver, did that same thing.

Pretty coasters! Great use of scraps. Like the plaid design and wood colors. Well done!
