Wife requested I build some end tables to match the coffee table I built a few years ago:
It was supposed to just be a couple tables but ended-up being 4; two with drawers and two enclosed ones with shelves. That was a lot of work and wood cutting!
Previously I used 1/4” cherry for the interior panels, but the sides were too large for that so this time I used cherry veneer on 1/4” ply. With veneering both sides of the panels (maple for the unseen backs) and the drawer fronts there were veneered panels everywhere. Rest is red oak and oak plywood. Danish oil and varnish on the cherry panels and dyed shellac and Polycrylic semi-gloss on the rest
Drawers are a bit shallow in the back to allow laptop chargers to be put there so laptops can be charged in the drawers. Shelves were spaced to put some Lego containers in 2-deep.
I think I’ll take a break from the shop for awhile after this one. :)
