This was a housewarming gift for a good friend. I made a jig for gluing and bending the thin strips for the top piece (something I’ve never done before). Other than having to work quickly because of glue set-up, it worked quite well. The legs were attached using a half-lap joint that I glued and screwed together (challenging because of the curved nature of the top piece). Although the wood (cypress and mahogany) should stand up to weather, I applied a coat of Thompsons Water Seal just to be safe. The letters were purchased on-line; they were easy to mount (adhesive backed) and have reflective properties.
