First things first, I’m not a model builder. I’m not much of a carver and I tend to shy away from model painting. So when one of the maintainers asked for me to build a model of a radar pod, I was hesitant but he had a smaller version and just wanted a larger copy.
The main body is about 1.5” thick made of maple with 1.5” poplar dowels turned and attached to the ends. Most of the smaller parts are maple as well. Shaping was done with a Dremel and a disc sander. The base is walnut.
All things considered, I’m happy with this as a prototype.

MMM, I would not have known what it was without your description. Good enlargement.

Looks great. If you have seen any of my projects you will quickly see I am a fan of military-type projects, especially aviation themed.

It’s a great replica, very well executed. Well done!
