First things first, I’m not a model builder. I’m not much of a carver and I tend to shy away from model painting. So when one of the maintainers asked for me to build a model of a radar pod, I was hesitant but he had a smaller version and just wanted a larger copy.
The main body is about 1.5” thick made of maple with 1.5” poplar dowels turned and attached to the ends. Most of the smaller parts are maple as well. Shaping was done with a Dremel and a disc sander. The base is walnut.
All things considered, I’m happy with this as a prototype.
