Was cleaning the shop and the lathe called out to me. Had some blanks made up sitting near by that my I had prepared for my wife and one of her friends to turn. So here it is. You all will have to guess the wood. I have forgotten what the blank was. It was finished with Shellawax and Mylands Friction polish.
I omitted the stock slimline center band (pretty much hate them) and did not feel like taking the time to make a turned one. I also intentionally left off the clip. This design fits quite nicely in your hand.
I’ll post some more pen pictures when I do something more challenging. I have some Elk Antler and good quality pen kits that are begging to be turned.

And easy! They are great items to make if your working alot. You can spend a half hour in the shop and feel like you accomplished something.

Nice looking wood. What do you mean by “slimline”? I don’t know much about turning pens.

Slimline is the type of parts kit used. Here is an example of a woodcraft kit.
These are usually the lowest cost pen kits. There are well over a hunderd different styles of kits.
Woodcraft also provides an article describing how they are made.

Good lookin pen-s Have you ever thought of making a pen that is all wood except for the insides . I’ve seen it done, and they look really nice that way.
Just a thought !

Nice, I don’t have a clue what the woods. Did you have to change the length of the blanks since you didnt use the center band? It looks good without the clip also.
