Used idea from Arookar who also gave credit to Blackie. These are walnut & maple. I used maple on outside when it had some nice spalting. Finished with 4 coats of arm r seal.

Seemed to go over well as a thank you to some Public Works people who were helping out on some memorial boulders that we are installing to commemorate Memorial Day, 9/11 & Veterans Day in our little town of Weaverville, NC.

Very nicely done—great thank you gifts, I’ll bet they went over well!

I wonder if the RFID-proof foil is available; these would then make great Credit card and smart-card protectors.

I like these better them mine :) I’m finding them a hard sell though even with a $10.00 I’m pondering on my next show to use them as give away just to get rid of them :)

Thanks for the comments.

Gary – interesting idea. Maybe someone a lot smarter than me will figure it out.

Blackie – perhaps “if you buy a whatever you get a beautiful card holder – free”. I’m lucky, at this point just give my things to unsuspecting relatives & friends. I would be happy if I were only 1/2 as talented as you.

On the tin foil for the RFID issue, i had made a few of these, and was asked the same question. I have saved some Coke cans, and on the next batch i do, i will just make the center section a bit thicker, and cut out the coke cans in the same inside dimension, and then epoxy on. Maybe just hold the outsides to a belt sander for a few seconds to plane down about 3/4ths of it so the cards wont catch. That’ll stop the crooks…...

Cool business card holders! The woods and the finish are gorgeous. Great job!
