Project Information
I delivered this Red Oak Vanity out in New York the other day. It has two false drawers on top and two functional drawers on the bottom. It also has a solid shelf on the bottom for decorative items or storage.
The best way I find in cutting out the drawer fronts is to dry clamp the apron making sure the boards line up somewhere in the middle of the drawer fronts and then do all your lay outs. After laying out the drawers, I use a jigsaw and make a cut about a half inch long on each drawer to be cut out. Then carefully glue up making sure to line up the layout lines and then just use a jigsaw to finish cutting out the drawers. A little work with a card scraper to clean up the cuts and your good to go.
