Well ,company has left and now it’s time for the shop again .
Had this box started a while ago and finished it today .
The box is made from a piece of maple flooring that would not fit into a maple floor so my buddy saved it for me and the top panel is a scrap of mahogany .
Just a simple box that was a joy to build and will go to little girl that keeps saving hardwood flooring for me ,I promised her a little box a while ago and this is it .
Finish is spray lacquer and beeswax mixture from another buddy that keeps bees .

It’s a wonderful box and you did a fine job on it.

That’s a fine looking box Kiefer. I love that Birdseye Maple. The top is a pattern I haven’t see before, I like it! I think the dark mahogany makes the lighter Birdseye look even better.
Excellent work!

Nice! Can you explain a little about how you constructed the pattern in the top?

Beautiful box, Kiefer…...the tiled look on the top is a happy use of the two contrasting woods.

I’m with Paul, your letting loose! I’d save stuff for you if I got a box? LOL! She’s gonna like it!
