Ok, so this is my first project that I’m uploading, and only my 3rd total. It’s made from a black walnut tree that fell during a storm last summer. I got the idea to use LPs in a coffee table from a project that I saw here:

So I made one similar to that (to be posted) and realized that if I made more of them, I would have nothing but LP covers sitting around, so I decided to make one with just the cover art instead. And I love it!

The tables are pretty basic in design, but are counter sunk into the table with kleer kote epoxy for bartops sealing them in to make it all level. Then I was able to get some laser cut, double pane glass from my brother-in-law that works at a window factory for the tops.

How many of these LPs can you identify?

Very Cool – but I think the danger is, everytime you sit down at the table you end up reminiscing an all sentimental and nothing gets done.
Might try something like this as I have kept all those ‘special’ LP’s

Wow!! what a great coffee table. Man did all those covers bring back memories Simon Garfunkel, Crosby Stills Nash, King Crimson, Jethro Tull, CCR, Cat Stevens, Niel Young, Elton John, The Byrds, The Stones, I know I am showing my age but what a great era of music to have lived through. Any way…great table, great idea and amazingly great memories thank you so much for sharing.

You are correct it does lead to reminiscing I ended up going to Youtube to listen to The Byrds “Eight Miles High”

Thanks guys! I did this one, an all LP one in oak, and a mixed LP/cover art table with only Led Zeppelin records for a friend. So far everyone has loved them.

The next project is going to be a wall hanger collage with more classic cover art. And eventually I’d like to make a pop up top with an actual record player underneath. But for now I’m just digging on these.

aussie: you did a pretty good job naming them. 10 points to you!

thanks. since i use my parent’s wood shop to make my projects—and since they only use fallen timber and don’t cut for their projects—i only have access to trees that grow in the mid appalachians. of those, black walnut is my favorite.
