My wife decorates with all things fish, so when I saw the idea for this fish skeleton trivet somewhere, I tossed a picture in my “one of these days” pile. I had some 1/2” walnut pieces laying around I wanted to use up, and found that picture in the pile.

The head and tail were cut based around some knots and interesting grain. The “bones” started as a long strip that I drilled before cutting apart. A piece of 1/4” dowel ties the whole thing together. Finish is a mineral oil/wax blend.
