I am on a mission to build stuff using what materials I have in the basement. This one is out of American Woodworker. The field is cork flooring left over from a bathroom remodel. The rest is popular and pine.

I tried using milk paint, but that was a disaster. It may have been too hot to apply; perhaps the milk paint didn’t like the various types of wood, or perhaps I was just inept. In any case I ended up sanding it down and using latex.

Nice looking unit. Why only three knobs?

because of the 1000 fasteners I have, I ran out of the only kind that would secure the knob. I will get another one layer this week.

I thought some ting like that was the cause. It drives me nuts knowing I have 10,00 pieces of hardware to find that when I need four of the same thing I can only find 3, and I have to buy 25 to get the one.

Again nice shelf unit.

Nice job. :-)
I’m building something similar, but a mirror instead of a back panel and instead of drawers, I’ll be using dowels to hang towels. Mine’s for the bathroom.

Well done, it looks very nice and a good way to use up scrap material.

It is one of Murphy’s laws for woodworkers: You will always have one faster too few.

Good looking and functional wall shelf. Great use of the leftovers and like the color. Well done!
