I have been building cedar furniture for going on three years now, as you probably know there is nothing worse than putting many hours into a project only for it to be useless due to improper design or failing joinery. The best thing to do is stop and ask your fellow woodworkers for valuable, timesaving information that may bring new ideas to light. Getting ready to build a new bar set, I need help with the design. looking for criticism??

Bars must have foot rails, even in the chairs do—In my opinion. I hate bars with out them. some bars now also put little purse or coat hangers under the lip. I also like the built in beer top popper screwed into the side, but with a rare earth magnet counter sunk in through the rear, just behind and underneath the popper, so the beer cap sticks to it when you pop it off.

You don’t need any criticism from me. I think you are and have done a marvelous job on these sets. Love the way the chair legs are canted. They look great.

Have you looked at changing the direction of the back boards? The chairs look great, love the curved legs.

I had another thought, and the others are right, they are surely pretty enough already. Im just trying to think functionality…

All your pics are outside, so maybe add a spot at one end or both, to put in one of those big umbrellas for some shade.
