Posts are 5&1/2” square. Head and footboard 1&1 4” thick, makes for a very heavy bed. Parts for just the headboard weighed total of 125 pounds, about 110 for the footboard. Last pic is bed at my son’s house. I started the bed in February, and finished it in July, with a 2.5 hr road trip to deliver it.

That is a massive bed, very impressive work. Those huge turnings must have been a pain to replicate… did you use a duplicator? I like the mortise and tenon connection of the head/tail boards.

Wow, lot of work in that. Looks like something out of a high end furniture store, I really like it.

I use a Vega duplicator. I draw the post full size, from a small picture of a bed my daughter found. So far have made 3 beds from the templates I made.

Excellent work.Nothing can make a bedroom a place of splendour better than the bed itself.Four poster beds are preferred by people who have a penchant for beautiful and useful decorative furniture. It will not only add value to the interior of your home but also provide you a comfortable sleeping experience.

Impressive work on that gorgeous bed. Great design on the beautiful wood and awesome finish. I’m sure son is very proud of it.
