I built one out of Cedar and one out of Redwood. Each have a matching ottoman. I back reclines. I got the plane from PeachTree. My father and I built one for a local charity and it sold at auction for 400.00.

I love these chairs!!!! They look outstanding!

How much were the plans for these chairs?? I would LOVE to build these chairs. I have been looking all summer long for plans for these chairs, but nothing has really caught my eyes until I saw these! Would love a link or website name to be able to get these plans from.

Beautiful chairs. I like your handle too, Sawdust and an IPA, sounds like my shop…

I wouldn’t mind seeing the plans either, Adirondack Chairs are on my list.

Well done -

Hi guys,

I wanted to follow up on the kind comments and answer a couple of questions. I purchased the plans from woodcraft and they can be found at woodcraftplans.com for 9.95. I purchased a couple of sets. The first set was the chair only. I was turned on to the plan because of the adjustable back system. After making the first one, it became apparent that this plan was “the bomb.” So I purchased a second set of plans that included a chair, a matching ottomon and a double chair bench. I then took the next step and using 1/4” hard board cut templates for every piece. I was going to make a bunch of them.

The finish is Cabot’s High Gloss Spar. After a couple of chairs in, I learned the best way to apply the spar is to mix it 50-50 with spirits and apply it by rubbing it on and then wiping off the excess. Giving it 2 hours to dry, a light sand and then apply again. The final coat of the 6 is full strength. Thanks again and happy woodworking!
