South Carolina Cornhole boards

Cornhole boards made for a fraternity brother (and wife) as a wedding gift. The decals are a vinyl I cut using a Roland GX-24 vinyl cutter. My process is to build, sand, stain/paint, apply vinyl graphics, and then top coat with (at least) 3 layers semi-gloss polyurethane.

I have made several of these sets before, this is just the first I actually got to post. A fun & easy project that can be done in a weekend… the only special tool is the 6” Hole saw bit, but you can always cut it out with a jig saw or drywall saw, too.

Thanks for looking, as always comments welcome!

Nice boards I like the paint job and decals also. I just made some boards for a client who wants to paint them the way you have done. I will forward your pics. So you made your own vinyl labels?

Are the dimensions you used set according to the game regulations? Or is there even such a thing?

Eddy yes they built to the right dimensions- here is a link to the official rules: http://www.playcornhole.org/rules.shtml

Thom yes I make my own vinyls. One of the classes I teach is a graphic design class… funny how these things all come together :-) Especially when I get to sign out equipment over the summer

I have nothing to say but that was cool. I like the idea of how you transfer the logo into the wood, which I can call it creative. Anyway, in the future and you need more idea about vinyl printing, check http://www.digiteksf.com/adhesive-vinyl/ they all have what might you need.
