These boxes were made out of african blackwood and the top out of an extroadinary piece of austrailian blackwood. This i had to keep together with epoxy to hold it together before cutting and finishing.

Johan,
Nicely done. Striking piece of wood on the lid. African blackwood is a favorite of mine, but never used Australian. Lovely choice. Always look forward to your postings.

These are outstanding!
I would love to get a hold of some of the Australian blackwood.
Thanks for posting.

Never saw either one of those beautiful woods before. You did them proud.

Johan, Wow! This Blackwood is spectacular stuff. I have never worked with these woods, but you have certainly shown their beauty to full advantage in your work. I am curious as to what is on the inside of these boxes. They certainly are well crafted. Thanks for sharing this with us. Keep boxing and keep posting.

The contrast of the woods is quite beautiful!
I would like to see a close up of the cover, as it looks like it has a lot of texture.

Beautiful boxes, Johan. The Australian Blackwood is striking and well worth your efforts in holding it together before assembly.
