The wolf is made from honey locust and the grain is really pretty but I do not know if I should stain it ,and which kind of stain, or if I should just polyurethane it any ideas? and the horse is just made from pine.

I like the horse more that the Wolf, Kinda hard to tell what it is!

Both pieces are well done lrct. I think the grain direction may be working against the wolf. Try different finishes on your scraps to see which you prefer. I’ve not used honey locust so I can’t be more helpful. Welcome to Lumberjocks! Thanks for sharing!

Maybe just stain the hair on top of the horse and then polyurethane it. Experiment and have fun with it.
