Some salad tossers I made out of some walnut scraps, finished with tung oil. Girlfriend mentioned these may fall into the salad because they’re too short and they don’t have a lip to grab onto the edge of the bowl. We’ll try them and see how they work, I may need to revisit them, good thing it was a quick project.

nice design, the walnut is really a good look. why tung oil? typically mineral oil is used for items like this, as it’s food safe, where tung oil isn’t. well, i should clarify my statement. pure tung oil is food safe, but the majority of tung oils sold as pure, are diluted with BLO, solvents, or the like. I was just curious if there was a beneficial reason for the tung oil.

It’s just what I had laying around, it’s pure tung oil and I’ve used it before on food items and I haven’t had any issues.
