This is the first carving project I made. I took a class at Lee Valley and really learned a lot and enjoyed myself too. The letters and the Sparrow are all the original face of the board and everything else is carved out around them.

Looks great, been looking for some new ideas for an upcoming project, this might work.
Got to love Lee Valley work shops when and if you can get in!

If you sign up for their mailing list, and then act quickly it is not too hard to sign up for one of Lee Valley’s classes. However, I seem to procrastinate until the classes I would like are filled.

I am on the mailing list but with only the one store here in Edmonton course’s fill within hours! I have yet to go to the store and not seen a line up, even on a Monday morning!

@rad457 Wow! I have 3 that I can drive to fairly easily, so it is much easier to get into a class. There are a couple more within 2-3 hours drive as well. Lucky me I guess, but I have not taken too much advantage of that yet.

@Josh Well you know, when your last name is Sparrow you have to incorporate a bird into things now and then, or sometimes again and again (if you saw my welcome sign).
