Just completed this oak box this afternoon. I made it with some of my salvaged oak from hurricane Katrina. This oak has some exceptionally nice grain and was a board from my spalted oak pile. some people don’t especially care for oak but it is a wood I most certainly like.

11×7x4”
The finish is lacquer…10 coats and buffed.
The bottom is lined with alligator leather.

Beautiful work, Greg. Do you use a template to carve the box and sides, or is each box uniquely carved?
