Good day fellow LJs,,

This daybed was designed to be viewed from all angles. The ebony and amboyna burl inlays extend all around bed. The backrest is made from various species of reclaimed wood. The bed frame is from a 2” x 12” yakal beam and the slats are made from ipil. The legs are molave and the bracing is balayong.

It always feels great designing a piece for a particular space in a home and seeing the final work complete the space.

Have a great weekend guys!

Another beautifully designed and executed piece! I wish I could see your work in person, as the photos are well presented, but the actual piece must be much more extraordinary in real life! Bravo!

Q: Should one envy others for the beautiful exotic woods that are not in their own backyard, or should they marvel at the possibilities of what others can do with what they have and then turn around and do equally extraordinary work with woods in one’s own backyard?

A: Yes. Envy can become admiration. Admiration can become incentive. Incentive can become ingenuity. Ingenuity can become the engine to perform a task that is accomplished.

Dream, create, conquer, accomplish. What ever the out-come you will succeed in fulfillment and strive.
Benji – Your accomplishments show your life is full. (Not full to capacity, but constantly being filled.)

Very visually interesting. I was wondering if the spikes are somewhat fragile. If for actual use I suspect kids might snap them off, even if by accident. If for looks only, wowza!

Do you ever get tired of hearing or seeing accolades? LOL! Another piece that pushes the limits! What was the inspiration?

I agree with mmh that you are blessed with wonderful and inspiring wood. And you know what to do with it.

I was wondering when you would post again. :>)
