Well about a year ago I won a book on “How to Build a Cigar Box” on this forum. I had a lot of other projects to catch up on, and now I have finally completed said cigar box guitar. so here I am pllaying that little jewel; sounds nice and only three strings instead of six.

The neck is red oak stained dark walnut. I rounded the neck a bit with a 5/16” round over bit. I didn’t build the cigar box amp, because I suck at electrical things. :-)

I would never have considered it if not for that book. So thanks LJ. I see more of these getting built in my future.

Looks great Mike, I also love the little amp! There is a large community of builders and players of cigar box guitars. You can find lots of info, lessons, photos, videos, groups, forums and even live chat at the Handmade Music Clubhouse http://HandmadeMusicClubhouse.com. There’s also info on all types of homemade instruments and music.
