Steve Ramsey of Woodworking for Mere Mortals made a wooden wall hanging of California and asked others to make create their own states or countries. I made an end-grain topography of Georgia. It’s made from Southern yellow pine of course and the squares are different heights for the terrain.

Check out my time lapse video of the project that shows how I made it in about a minute.

I like the end-grain and the texture provided by it! I made a Georgia wall hanging but added hooks on it so that it would be a place for keys and the such. I’ll have to check out Steve’s video, too.

Cool and unique wall hanging! Like the nice grains on the wood and finish. Great job!
