Pair of Tables

I started these tables a while back and have slowly been chipping away at them. Nothing seemed to go right with this project so one design idea lead to another until I ended up with this. My wife suggested adding an indented curve along the front and back of the tops…according to her they look like school desk tops in their current state.

Cherry, walnut, hickory, and padauk drawer pulls.

Thanks for looking.

Those are really nice looking. Don’t see an old school desk myself.

I like them! I see more of an Asian infuence to them myself.

I like the Asian look. Nice choice of woods.

I’m towards the end of making 3 tables and nothing has gone right so I feel your pain. I made the tops too big and they over power the base but I like the tops so much that I decided to repurpose them as TV trays. So I’m making new tops now.

I’m not being critical but I like your wife’s idea. Another thought is to add a detail to the top that has the similar curves as the table top support. Just an idea.
