Here is a small bookshelf I built for my sister in-law. She and and her kids are all ‘artsy’ types, i.e. talented starving artists who have real jobs to support their talents. So, I took some liberty in building this project. I used a diluted white latex paint to achieve a white color which allowed wood grain and knots to show through. It was an idea I stole from the v-grove pine planks I put on my workshop’s low ceiling to brighten things up. Some of you may like it, and some of you more talented formal woodworkers may have a different take.

In any case, your comments are always welcome. Thanks for looking – Barry

Good looking small bookshelf! Cool and effective technique, the grains are pretty, nice finish too. Well done!
