Here`s a new idea to my line of carved bone bottom guitar slides. These are for the traditional lap guitar or lap steel guitars. I carve a chamber in the laminated bone bottom to insert a piece of 1/2” square x 2 3/4” bell brass stock. It`s then epoxied in place with a wood top epoxied on top. The average weight comes in at around 2 1/2 ounces. Another neat look is to engrave the side of the slide to expose the brass inside, adds a little ” bling ” to the creation. I carve a finger groove in the middle with wings on either side to help with the control of the slide. So far from the reaction from my customers looks like these will be another winner in my line of guitar slides.
