I like it. It was nice to see the pieces before you assembled it too. I think a bigger or more original knob may have set it off a little. I may try one like it with a miniature torii (Japanese archway) as a lid lift.

First project in almost 4 years. Wow. Well, it’s a good one. I’m sure your friends wife really loves it. In the 2nd picture, I see the legs but, what is that other piece. I can’t find it in the project.

@maplerock, thanks for the kind words..yes I was rooting for a handmade knob similar to tori but time was scarce and the husband and wife were about to leave then…and the scrollsaw wasnt in my inventory of tools when I was building it..haha, (I purchased one a week after..but alas, I haven’t done any fretwork yet!) I hate to admit, tools are piling up but the list of unifinished projects are also mounting! hah! Well I got some projects done before but they aren’t worthy of any space here at LJ. :(

@gary, thanks but that is a prototype. If I should make another one, I will make a removable tray on top apart from the bottom drawers…ah, the second photo was just showing the offcut on top of the table saw, meant to illustrate how I cut the whole piece and from where I got the four “legs”.

Pretty box! Like the design especially the legs and the inlays add great accents. Well done!
