This is probably not the normal kind of woodworking project seen on this site. My buddy Jeff and I worked on this project together for his daughter’s softball team. He needed a cover for a portable stereo system that he had built onto a small wagon. Each girl has her own favorite song that is played when they come up to bat, so its a very “eye of the tiger” inspirational thing for the team. We created a mold out of poplar supports, hardboard, and a $1.99 bowl from Dollar General. From that we applied aluminum foil, layers of fiberglass, a bondo/resin mixture, sanded, painted, applied some decals and placed it on top of the wagon stereo. Future plans are to add some hydraulics to raise and lower the cover.

Great project. I think sometimes the ‘kid’ projects can e the most innovative for us, get us thinking beyond ‘traditional’ woodworking. Thanks for the post!
