I got a little sticker shock when pricing dining chairs recently so naturally I made my own. I went a little “high end” with these extravagant 2×4s and world class seat foam…Check it out! There is a full tutorial here

Nice chair. And a much nicer price too. I’m glad you included the process of making the cushion in your video. I’ve never done any upholstering either so that was intimidating me from thinking I’d try this soon.

I’ve seen several things lately that require a tapered leg. I guess I need to make a tapering jig. But before I get ahead of myself… My next project is actually a shoji frame like yours. I was showing my mom your outdoor chairs and benches that I was getting ready to get supplies for, and we ran across your plans for the frame. Now she has me making her one. Thanks for sharing. The combination of sketch up plans, cut lists and videos makes it easier to make these items

Nice looking chair. Are you going to make a set of chair ? and what about a matching table? Thanks for showing the process of making your designs. and to quote whitebeast88 “you gotta slow down your building stuff i wanna build and my list keeps growing.lol.” Take care. Tim

all chairs look better with 2 cute pups! we all have $$$$ limits and do what we can with what we have..

It looks good and sturdy. Like the great design, joinery and wood choice. Thanks for sharing the great video and the beautiful photo.

These turned out really well Jay. One of our ‘fine’ dining chairs is being repaired right now due to a front leg snapping off (and throwing the hubby to the floor-ouch). I don’t see that happening with these 2×4 chairs. There may be a set in the future at the Frye household. Thanks for sharing.
