I’ve been bad about not posting a bunch of little projects I’ve completed while working on a big blanket chest, so I figure I’ll do some catch up over the next few weeks as I have time.
My mom got us a lovely basket from Gatlinburg as a housewarming present in November, and I finally got around to mounting it in May because I had to design and make a special mount. I dug through my hardwood and came up with some pieces that nicely complimented the basket and built the bracket in the first picture. I placed it to cover the connections for a wall-mounted TV since we won’t be using those. The second pic shows it in place, and the third shows it over the TV. Still a lot of decorating to do, but it’s a start.
Can anybody “name those woods?” They’re from an assortment box I bought online. The finish is several coats of satin poly.
NOTE: I can’t claim credit for the basket. That laser-cut beauty is from Tim Weberding, a Gatlinburg woodworker. If he’s here and happens to see this, I hope he’ll say hi.
Oh, and that TV stand is another project, but I won’t post it until I finish it, which should be later this month.
