This is a workbench my dad help me put together a few weeks back. Instead of an expensive glued up top he had the idea to get a solid wood door. We picked it up at a resale shop this Oak door was new and marked as having some imperfection. Well it looks great laying down! Put it on some 2×4’s and reinforced with a shelf and some hardwood tongue and groove from the scrap file. After anchoring it to the wall this thing is about as stable as the building. Finished it with 4 coats of poly. Now I just need to get it dirty.

Thanks for looking.

Good job! Been there, done that! I had a left-over 8 foot solid door taken out of a commercial job years ago…. left it behind in the house we sold, since this one had a passable alternative in the garage/shop. A solid door is a good way to get it done without fuss or muss!

Have your say...
