I was asked by a buddy of mine to make a shelf for his wife. They found an old piece of cypress in a lake and wanted that to be the top. I had a buddy of mine who works at a ranch locally to get me to cypress knees. Those are what I used for the shelf brackets. I layed the knees down on my chop saw and ripped them in half. I had to let them dry out to make sure they would go flat against the wall. My buddy cleared coated them once they were all dried out. Talk about some hard wood to cut thru.
