First Bench

This is my first bench. I made the Rock Solid Plywood Bench featured in Fine Woodworking #181 with a few changes. The base is all plywood but the top is 3/4 ply, 3/4 MDF, and hardboard(replaceable) to top it off. Since these pictures I’ve added a front vise and dog-holes. It still needs a protective edging but I’m working on it. Also working on the bottom too. A cabinet will go on the left and drawers on the right.

Nice bench …I helped a neighbour build the same one from FWW 181 and as you say…solid as a rock.

Nicely done! You’ll be amazed how much more you can get done with a nice solid bench!
