This is made from walnut and plum. The very top piece is mahogany, I think.
The walnut and plum is all salvaged from my favorite lumber yard the fire wood place. It was a fun project.

You would be surprised how nice some old pieces of wood can be. Just find a knarly piece of wood and cut it up.

The panels were made from a plum tree. There was a knarly burl on the plumb log. It was just a matter of cutting and cutting till I found a cool book match. The best thing about using free logs that are really cracked and checked is that it does not matter much about waste.

The finish on the panels was BLO the several coats of clear shellac. Then a few coats of wax. The rest was BLO, Tung oil, and poly.

Here is a question. I sold this piece for $70.00. Does that seem like a fair deal?
