Julia, my daughter, needed a coffee table to fill the living room in her new NYC apartment. She suggested a rustic design resembling a chest.

The completed project is a dovetailed body of Pennsylvania Cherry, a table top of Cherry, Mahogany frame and Holly dowels and storage trays of Eastern Red Cedar. The construction is entirely of wood joinery. Metal adornments are ornamental. The piece was finished using five coats of dewaxed shellac followed by water based polyurethane.

Damn. That is VERY nice Cubby. Yer joinery is killer. I bet your daughter is mighty proud to show that off.
