My wife saw this on a visit to Amish country, so I took a few measurements and made her one. It is made from Poplar (which is painted) and the top is Cherry. I used lye to give the top an “aged” look, then put some varnish and wax on it after it dried. The legs taper from the shelf down to about 7/8 of an inch. I used mortise and tenon joinery and a lock miter for the drawer.

this is very nice. It has a clean look in white. Should last forever. Thanks for sharing it.

Nice job!
I really like the painted base with solid wood top.

Great work, it is beautiful and matches the walls and floor.
