This was made for my wife, I think she saw something similar on Pinterest (her idea, my labor-usually how it is ;). It was made from old deck boards used for fencing that I tore down and saved (not sure for what at the time, but you know how hard it is to throw away wood). The boards were pine, weathered gray, blue paint and some star fished she purchased from a craft store. The hardest part of this would be to find some wood that has been weathered. I believe the measurements are 4 feet by 5 feet, and I put rubber feet on the back and bottom to lean against the wall on our mantle above the fireplace.

This is really neat, simple, clean project! I am starting to check out pinterest and etsy for ideas myself :)

Thanks for the kind words. After my wife posted it, I now need to make several more for friends and family.

Brilliant idea, very creative and nice rustic look. Great to display on the mantle, a great conversation piece. Great job!
