Cedar Woodbox

I’ve worked in a small mountain community in Colorado for 5 years and it has really botherede me that we have a great old lodge with stone fireplaces and used cheap plastic bins for firewood, kindling etc. Well, a friend gave me the leftovers from a new cedar fence his neighbor built and I had a brilliant idea…a real woodbox. I gave it 2 inch casters so we can move it to clean and hope members of the younger generation don’t get the idea to have “woodbox races”. Fun project finished with spar urethane.

Very nice and practical with the addition of the castors. The box is very pleasing to the eye.

Now you’ve got me thinking, I have a fireplace in my house and a nice wood box would be a great alternative to my current technique of just piling the wood on the floor to only have my cats knock them over while playing.

Looks too nice for storing wood. When I first saw the picture I thought it was for blankets or the like. Great work!

That fits the d├ęcor much better than plastic!

The Spar colored that cedar just right. And I like the design.
