Ok, a few weeks ago, the Wife found a table top, for FREE, at a garage sale. I had some Black walnut I WAS making into some legs, mainly for another table project. Weell, gt told she wanted a Table DONE this weekend! had to go and buy some apron stock. She was happy with just some white Pine 1×4s so I bought two 8 footers. Finished tapering the last two legs about noonish or so. Mortise and tenon joints were done by about 3. Assembled down in the basement shop. Carried the base upstairs. Flipped top over to install the base. Screwed off one side, then a clamp to pull things square. Screwed off the other side, got rid of that old card table, set the “new” table in just the right spot, as directed by the Boss. Put the existing chairs under the table, and went to fix Supper, time was 6:30 pm.

That’ll work for awhile. Maybe? Great save on the FREE top. Good use of white lumber from bigbox store plus your walnut legs.

That was fast and you have a good looking table. Like the walnut legs. I’m sure the Boss likes it. Great job!

The Boss went out and bouth a varnish brush, so I guess I will have to add some finish to the base unit…

she also found some metal framed chairs to add to the table, one needed a back slat fixed. Still using those two wood chairs as well. As long as everyone is skinny, table can seat six.
