This is my second Flower with Hummingbird from Steve Goods’ designs. My first time using purpleheart, and dang that wood is hard compared to what I’m used to. It was tedious compound cutting the 10 flower petals, but I just love the color. I knew the first time I saw the wood I was going to have to make something with it.
It only has the first coat of clear lacquer at this point, plan to add at least 2 or maybe 3 more coats.

The base and stem are black walnut, the leaves are red oak, the center of the flower is bocote, and the hummer is poplar.

Thanks for looking.
