Made this gauge for http://lumberjocks.com/DonBroussard as part a a Shop-made Tool Swap on the forum. The knobs are designed for use as drawer knobs. The notch on the back is for a pencil. The last picture is of my prototype gauge from ipe.

Nice job, jap. I like the pencil notch, might have to retrofit that feature on ones I’ve built.

@JayT—On the almost duplicate marking gauge I made for you, that I made for myself, I included the pencil notch on the back end of the beam as well. You certainly won’t offend me if you rasp out a little notch on your purple heart beam for a pencil notch.
