Happy Independance Day to all…....a day late… I’m always behind. Being a gr8 holiday like Independance Day, AND, the 150th anniversary of Gettysburg, I came up with this idea of a few essentials needed on a desktop. Made from scraps, First a 50cal Pen/Canon…........followed by a 30cal Deluxe Letter Opener. (PennStInd Kits). The canon is my idea. One set is Ebony, the other is Bicote, and both canon bases are Walnut that I had to dust with some black spray paint because the clear Deft sprayed the Walnut with…....well, I had a “snafu”....Too much humidity out here underneath my garage patio, and the clear frosted up…. I didn’t want to sand these little things, so I just covered em up with a dusting o black. Thnx for the looks, and comments….......yup—-good/bad/ugly….........Hope everyone has a safe Independance Day weekend. Enjoy.

Just plain cool! These look great! The only problem I have is that my desk is such a mess it would just “eat” them. I do keep track of my civil war pen and enjoy it just about every day. Thanks for sharing and very nicely done!

What a great idea Roger! They look super nice! Perfect for the desktop. I hate it when the clear clouds up like that, I like the back! Nice work!

Very nice and original design. Like how you made the “carriage” for the cannons. Just a great job all the way around. I’ll take 12 !

Great idea for recycling rifle brass, other than reloading it. Beautiful sets. I just love the size of a .50 BMG round.

Great idea Roger, looks fantastic. From my recollection of a 50 cal round the casing is much heavier than a standard pen, but who cares when they look so cool….great job
