I finally finished my end table. All solid cherry. The top is glued up 4/4X3 1/2X25” boards. After the clamps came of I planed it flat with a #5 Stanley and a 9” block plane (the more planing I do the more I enjoy it). I used Walnut fort the leg inserts, spindles and the top trim. For the trim I ripped 2 pcs of 4×4X 1/16 and used a cargo clamp to secure it one strip at a time. i staggered the joints on the strip by an inch or 2. I finished it with 1 coat of “teak oil” (BLO & thinner)and 5 coats of water based Varithan with 220g paper in between. I used 0000 steel wool and furniture polish after the last coat. It was a fun project and the Mrs. is quit pleased :).
Thanks fer lookin’
Mark

Very pretty end table. Like the Cherry and the design as well as the finish. Happy wife means happy life. Great job!
