Have made these nice “One-step stools” before and needed a few more for some gifts. Made two with oak and one with walnut.

Great to keep in the kitchen so my wife and daughter can get to the top shelves of the cabinets. Also handy for little kids, one of the ladies at my office said it would be a perfect “time out” chair for her son.

We’ve made about 40 of these over the years and these have always been a “easy to build project” that our family and friends really enjoy.

Joints are made with sliding dovetails.

Bob July 5, 2013

Here are the dimensions:
All 3/4” stock
Back 8” x 30”
Step 8” x 12”
Front Leg 8” x 8”
Support pieces (2) 2” x 9 3/4”

Very nice looking chairs, could work for dining table as well if height is adjusted. Wouldn’t mind 8 of them.

nice chair design. How do you assemble the pieces together (glue, dowel)?

great stools. I’m sure they would be very handy for those of us that are vertically challenged.

Nice job. I like the sapwood running down the center of the walnut version. Well done.
