This is part of a commissioned series I am making for a client… The barnwood material is from her family’s farm here in Iowa. I produce veneer from the barnwood and use a Baltic Birch plywood substrate with a dull conversion varnish finish. The darker accent wood is a stained cherry. The lower drawers have a subtle bow front feature.

That is, for lack of a better phrase, a very compelling design. I don’t like barnwood anything for the most part, but this one is very tasteful and refined. Thanks for sharing, I’m thinking the client loves it!

The client is who we serve, and you are putting your handprint on it. Nice work on both pieces

Mgustafson… Most here don’t share my affinity for works which might be categorized as “distressed” but I can tell you, this is a masterpiece.

The workmanship is flawlessly executed, the lumber selection is tastefully unique, and it blends fine joinery with reclaimed materials, which in this case honors a cherished family memory.

Wow! Looks great and has a very cool vintage look. Like the idea of mixing reclaimed wood with new ones. Great design and finish. Excellent work!
