Most of you have heard those words “granddad can you just make me”. Well that is what one of mine said when she wanted a bed for her Barbie doll so off to the shed i goes. With some bits of pine from a headboard of which I had about 8 of from a company that went out of business. I like free wood.
Anyway back to the toy bed the good lady went up to her sowing room and a bed was born. The letter “B” is cut from modelling ply and stained blue with spirit dye and finally 3 coats of Acrylic varnish.

Makes a change to make something for a girl.

I’m sure she loves it to. Nice work, Granddad.

Very nice. I am sure she was very happy. I just posted a picture of a bed that I made for my daughter.

G’Day and Very well done Derek,
You will surely receive extra payment for that one, with a heap of hugs, kisses and thank you’s…...

May I offer some caution here; my grandsons [6 & 2.5] think Pa can make or repair anything…

I can just imagine the look in her eyes seeing that pretty and well made doll bed. Great job Grand Pa!

Have your say...
